Ostraca - Thread

Richmond, Virginia’s Ostraca returns with Thread, an unexpected new album and follow-up to 2025’s Eventualities. Not ones to slow down, the trio of bassist Gus Caldwell, guitarist Brian Russo, and drummer John Crogan pick up where their last record left off, with six new songs of emotive, heavy screamo and post-hardcore. Through quiet and devastatingly loud dynamics, the dark and bleak Thread explores themes of interconnectedness, fate and the unknowable.

Thread was recorded in November 2025 and was engineered, mixed and mastered by Danny Gibney, who the band worked with previously on Eventualities and Disaster. Photography by Nika Mckagen. Art and layout by Garrett Smith.
