Caithlin De Marrais

BIO:

Caithlin is a founding member of Rainer Maria, the archetypical “second-wave emo” rock band. With Rainer Maria she has been featured or favorably reviewed in The New York Times, SPIN magazine, and on Pitchfork, Brooklyn Vegan, and elsewhere. Their albums Look Now Look Again and A Better Version of Me reached #2 and #1, respectively, on the College Music Journal charts.

Caithlin’s early solo recordings appeared on the tiny Brooklyn imprint End Up Records. All that material is being reissued in March 2021 by Skeletal Lightning Records, where the albums will be available for the first time on vinyl.

This includes her first album, 2008’s My Magic City, mixed by Dave Schiffman (Johnny Cash, Mars Volta); her second album, 2011’s Red Coats, co-produced by Steve Salett (The Poison Tree) and Josh Kaufman (Muzz, Bonny Light Horseman); and the recent Outtakes & Alternates, a collection of compelling incidental recordings.

Caithlin’s Canada tour with Owen, planned for summer 2020, was postponed due to the pandemic.
